The Yorkton DreamCentre is partnering with Anytime Fitness to help put on Yorkton’s second annual Global 6K For Water in partnership with World Vision!
This year’s event is taking place on Saturday, August 29th, 2020 starting at 2:00 p.m.
Every step you take is one they won’t have to.
Six kilometres is the average distance women and children walk for water in the developing world – water that is often contaminated with life-threatening diseases. When you walk (or jog, run, push a stroller, bike, walk your dog, rollerblade, etc) the 6K, you provide life changing clean water to one person in need and you’ll do so with an event bib with the picture of a child receiving clean water through World Vision’s water projects.
In 2019 (Yorkton’s first year participating in the Global 6K For Water), we had 47 participants and raised $3,832.67. This means that we helped provide clean water for 76 people! In 2020 we want to see those numbers grow! Will you help us?
Register yourself (as an individual, or with others as a team), put up a poster, spread the word, make a donation, etc! Let’s work together to make a difference!
You can register, or make a donation, to our event by going to the following link:
Registration for the event is free, but you are encouraged to make a donation to help provide clean water for a community in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Every $50 donated or raised provides sustainable access to clean water for one person! Every participant who raises $50 or more will receive a special shirt to wear on race day.
